The Balance of the Arms
To get a solid golf swing, you must understand the unique BALANCE of your arms.
Balance of Arm’s Learning Objectives:
We will understand each arm individually for the clubface to be square and strike the ball first
We will understand the balance of the arms swinging around our body and how this relates to striking the ball solid
We will understand EXACTLY where to start our arms on this path at setup to continue on this balance around us
We will understand how our arms are oriented at setup, and how to know and check you did this EXACTLY right
We will understand how much our wrists will be cocked vs uncocked
We will understand the connection between each arm to the chest to achieve a well connected golf swing
We will understand the exact position of the elbows and the keys to keep them close together, leading to a balance of the arms around the body
We will understand the drills needed to FEEL all of the above details
We will understand the importance of a straight lead arm to a consistent contact point with the ground, and a consistent balance of the arms and swing path
We will understand the connected top of the backswing position to prevent overswinging
We will learn how to keep a straight lead arm
We will understand the importance of starting with our lead arm straight ON IT’S NATURAL PATH. Starting with the lead arm straight off it’s natural path will make it hard to keep straight

The Balance of the Body
To get a solid golf swing, you must also understand the balance of the BODY.
Balance of the Body Learning Objectives:
We will understand that we found our swing plane, now finding our body’s balance is the only other thing we need to do for a solid golf swing.
We will understand the need to turn our shoulders on an angle to prevent hitting the ball fat
We will understand how to correctly turn around spine
We will understand the relationship to the ground with a hula hoop, and the importance of tilting and turning. We can visually check this with a hula hoop
We will understand the airplane drill to feel and see the proper way to turn
We will understand the natural motion of the body and how this relates to striking the ball first
We will understand the details of a weight shifts importance to strike the ball first
We will understand the natural positions of the body on its natural motion starting straight up and down then working our way to the ground
We will understand the natural balance of our body has a natural rounding to the lower back and slightly less knee bend than you might imagine. This generates an effortless golf swing, ball first contact, and a smooth, body-friendly swing
We will understand the importance of not overturning, especially with wedges and lies more bent over, and how to feel this in real time with any lie on the golf course
We will understand the top of the backswing and each position of the swing in slow motion with the ability to hit in front of the golf ball
We will then understand the relationship between our arm’s natural balance and our body’s natural balance
We will understand the perfect amount each foot should be flared out depending on body type
We will understand the swing starter (the first move of the golf swing) to get your swing in balance and in rhythm
We will understand our unique distance with each golf club in the bag
We will understand the importance of staying centered in the swing
We will understand there is a magical line to stay over to strike the ball first consistently
We will understand how to stay over that line with a balance of the legs
We will understand you can be too far forward at the setup position, there is a sweet spot
We will feel the hips working back and through, and the position to start them in to get your hips on your team

We will build the skill to hit in front of the golf ball with only our trail arm
We will build the skill with each arm individually to hit the ball first with a square clubface
We will build the skill to hit in front of the golf ball with both arms on the club with a square clubface without the club pulling you off the ball (you have achieved balance of the arms)
We will build the skill to know exactly where to stop the arms on their natural path at setup, so they will continue to swing in balance to the top of the swing
We will build the skill to hit the ball smoothly, then faster and faster as long as we are in balance with the arms
We will build the skill to understand how far we are hitting from the ball with each club to get our perfect distance from the ball
We will build the skill to glue this relationship of our swing plane to our chest correctly
We will build the skill to use our body to hit past the ball
We will build the skill of hitting in front of the ball with our body with practice and repetition and understanding the incorrect movements that lead to hitting behind the ball
We will build the skill of turning our shoulders down to hit in front of the ball
We will see how many times you can hit in front of the ball after going from the airplane drill to then hitting the ball by turning your body
We will then combine both ideas of the swing (a balance of the arms, and a balance of the body) repeating each one after the other to see if one is having an effect on the other
We will then build the skill of developing half swings, to 3/4 swings, to full swings
